This is a sweet and salty snack using only three ingredients!
It’s so simple and a huge hit with the kids. You can change this up for other holidays, too, but I’ll get to that!
Candy Corn (or other holiday inspired candy- think red and green M n M’s or maybe even conversation hearts?!)
Optional: Cinnamon and Vegetable Oil
Pop popcorn according to directions and set aside. I love my air popper (a wedding gift), it make perfect batches of popcorn every time and I find the kernels are cheaper than buying the bags.
Melt white chocolate. Use the 1:1 ratio. If you have three ounces of popcorn, melt 3oz of white chocolate. I use the microwave in 20 second intervals and stir until melted. Optional: you can add a drop of vegatable oil to thin out the chocolate and make it easier for the next step.
Add candy corn to the popcorn- corn to the second power (Yes, I’m a nerd)! The candy corn will likely fall to the bottom of the bowl, no worries, you’ll mix it up. Add the melted chocolate to Corn² and mix it all up until it’s coated with white chocolate goodness. Optional: add a pinch of cinnamon to this mixture.
The total time this took me to make was 5 minutes and my kids loved it! I also may have eaten quite a bit of it myself…but I will neither confirm nor deny these allegations *wink*!
Let me know if you use other candies in this super simple snack mix recipe and how it turned out!
