This truly is a DUMP cake. As in, I used what I found, what sounded good and dumped it in the pan. I wasn’t sure if this would be a hit or miss and made it on a whim- so I didn’t take any ‘before’ photos of the ingredients. Again, I used what I had but here goes:
Approx 12 oz of frozen fruit (I had about half blueberries and half raspberries leftover).
1 can of Pineapple Chunks (I wish I had crushed but alas, chunks is what I usually buy for the kids)
1 box white cake mix
1/2 stick of butter
So, I dumped the fruits (pineapple juice and all) on the bottom of a 9×13 pan.
Next, I shook the dry cake mix over the fruit mix and smoothed it out.
I cut thin slices of the butter and topped the dry cake mix with it.
Popped it in the oven for approx 40 minutes (my oven cooks fast and is wonky- I want a new one SOOO badly!) on 350*. You’re looking for a golden brown somewhat crumbly topping. It was a nice and easy sweet treat and I encourage you to try it out with whatever you have!
Next, I want to try canned peaches and top it with ice cream. YUM!
